The sound of controllers clicking, kids cheering, and games lighting up screens filled the air at the DYGI Gaming Tournament—but this event was about way more than just competition. It was about opening doors. Men In Black De-escalation and our Urban Scouts of America are proud to announce our partnership with DYGI to create gaming and coding camps for Black youth.
Why does this matter? Because the tech industry has been building the future without us at the table. Black kids and Black people are some of the most affected by this imbalance—we’re often consumers of tech, but not the creators, engineers, or owners. That gap isn’t about talent—it’s about access, opportunity, and knowledge.
This partnership is designed to change that. Through gaming and coding camps, we’re giving our young people the skills to not only play the game, but to design it, build it, and own it. We’re teaching them to code, to problem-solve, to collaborate, and ultimately, to dream beyond the controller in their hand.
Our vision is global not just camps. It’s about creating pathways where Black youth can either start their own businesses or link up with other Black-owned tech ventures. Cooperative economics doesn’t stop at food or fashion—it has to live in tech too. And if we want to see stronger Black futures, we need to invest in tech knowledge early, often, and together.
At the DYGI Tournament, kids were showing off their gaming skills, sure, but they were catching a glimpse of the future we’re building for them. A future where they don’t just consume technology, they command it. A future where they can see themselves as game developers, software engineers, and tech entrepreneurs.
MIB has always been about keeping our people safe—but safety isn’t just physical. It’s also economic, cultural, and educational. With Urban Scouts and DYGI by our side, we’re making sure the next generation of Black youth has the tools, the confidence, and the opportunity to shape the digital world.
Because the next level isn’t just in the game—it’s in the code.
